Electrolytic Hydrogen Catalytic Electrodes
Protection of electrolysis cells
Request a quote for this gradeIn wind/solar-powered alkaline water electrolysis, supply volatility readily triggers reverse currents (magnitude scales with the square of cell count), oxidizing and dissolving the cathode catalyst. Yingrui developed a reverse-current absorber: a special active material forms a cathode current-collector coating whose per-area capacity to consume oxidation current far exceeds the HER electrode. Applied by thermal spray onto the bipolar plate, support mesh or back of the cathode carrier, it preferentially consumes oxidation current at shutdown, suppressing cathode oxidation, quickly eliminating reverse current and protecting the catalyst and carrier for stable operation.
